About us
Toston pr is a services marketplace made in Puerto Rico, for Puerto Rico. It connects people who need something done — a plumber, a tutor, a cleaner, a mechanic, a cook — with the people nearby who do that work.
Why we're building it
Plenty of skilled people here find work only by word of mouth. Someone in Bayamón asks a cousin, who asks a neighbour, and a good electrician two streets away never hears about the job. Meanwhile the provider has no simple way to show what they do, what they charge, and that other people were happy with the work.
We think that costs Puerto Rico real opportunity. A site where local providers can be found by the people already looking for them keeps more work, and more of the money it pays, with the people doing it. That's the whole idea: not a lead-selling middleman, but a place to be found.
Right now: we're looking for our first providers
The site is in its first phase. We haven't started advertising to customers yet, because sending people to an empty marketplace helps nobody. First we're inviting the providers who will be here when customers arrive.
- It's free. Creating an account, building a profile and posting your services costs nothing.
- No commissions. We don't take a cut. What you agree with a customer is between you and them.
- No commitment. There's nothing to sign, and you can edit or delete your profile whenever you want.
- We'll tell you when customers arrive. When we open the site to customers, we'll email everyone who signed up, so you'll know before the first message lands.
- Founding Provider. Providers who post before we launch keep a Founding Provider badge on their profile afterwards.
What it costs
Nothing today, for providers or customers. If we ever add something paid, we'll say so here and by email well before it happens, and it will never apply to work you've already done.
How it works
- Create a free account and fill in your profile: a photo, what you do, your municipality and the other towns you'll travel to.
- Post what you offer. You can give one price, or several named prices — "Termite treatment", "Commercial" — per job, per hour, per day, per visit, per month, or starting from.
- Say whether you're taking new work right now, so customers don't waste your time or theirs.
- Customers message you through the site. Your phone is only shown to people you approve, and your email and address stay private unless you change that yourself.
- After a job, either side can leave a review, and ratings show on your profile.
Built for Puerto Rico
- Everything works in English and Spanish. Switch with the US / ES button at the top of any page.
- All 78 municipalities, plus the neighbourhoods people actually say: search "Santurce" or "Levittown" and you'll find the providers who work there.
- Search understands how people really type: accents are optional, plurals work, and "plomero", "plomería" and "plumber" all find the same people.
- Providers can list every municipality they serve, or say they work island-wide, so a job in the next town over still finds you.
Safety and trust
- Providers can verify their identity with a photo. Verified profiles show a badge, and the photo is never shown publicly.
- Anyone can report a post or a member. We read every report ourselves and can suspend accounts.
- Conversations stay on the site, so you don't have to hand out your number to answer a question.
- We don't sell anyone's data, and there's no advertising tracking here. What we store and why is in the Privacy Policy.
- A few sample listings marked DEMO are ours, not real providers. They show what a finished profile looks like, and you can't message them.
Who we are
A small independent team in Puerto Rico, building this ourselves. No franchise, no big company behind us. If something is broken, confusing or missing, write to us — a person reads it, and that's usually how the next change gets made.

What does it cost?
Nothing. No sign-up fee, no monthly fee, and no commission on the work you get. If we ever add something paid, we'll announce it here and by email long before it starts, and it will never apply to work you've already done.
Will anyone actually see my listing yet?
Honestly, not many people yet. We're still gathering providers and haven't started promoting the site to customers. Your profile is live and searchable from the moment you post it, and when we do start promoting, we'll email everyone who signed up first. Being here early is how you're in the results on day one instead of starting from scratch.
Who can see my phone number and address?
Your phone is shown only to people you personally approve, and your email and home address are private unless you change that yourself. Customers contact you through the site, so you can answer questions without handing out your number. You can change who sees each field at any time in Edit profile.
Do I need a registered business or an LLC?
No. Individuals working on their own are exactly who this is for. You're responsible for any licence or permit your trade requires by law — we don't check those — so if you hold one, say so in your description. It's one of the first things customers look for.
How do customers reach me, and do I have to reply right away?
They message you through the site, and we email you when a message arrives (you choose which emails you get in your notification settings). There's no response-time rule and no penalty for being slow. If you're busy, set your status to "Limited availability" or "Not taking new work right now", and customers will see it before they write.
Do I have to accept every job?
No. You decide what you take, who you work with, and what you charge. Nothing is booked automatically, and no money passes through this site — you arrange payment directly with the customer, however you normally do.
How do I price work that varies?
Set one price, or several with names — "Termite treatment", "Commercial" — each per job, per hour, per day, per visit, per month, or starting from. Your card then shows a range like "$85 – $275". You can also tick "Price is negotiable" if you'd rather quote after seeing the job.
Can I write everything in Spanish?
Yes. Write in whichever language you're comfortable in. The site itself works in both, readers can translate your listing with one tap, and search finds you either way: a customer typing "plumber" finds a listing written as "plomería".
What stops someone from wasting my time or scamming me?
Anyone can report a post or a member, and we read every report ourselves and can suspend accounts. Conversations stay on the site, which leaves a record. Providers can also verify their identity with a photo for a badge on their profile — it's optional, it's free, and the photo is never shown publicly. Use the same care you would with any new customer: for a big job, meet first and agree terms in writing.
Will you sell my information or send me junk?
No. We don't sell anyone's data and there's no advertising tracking on the site. You only get the emails you turn on, plus essential ones like a password reset. The Privacy Policy lists exactly what we store and why.
Can I remove a listing, or my whole account?
Both, yourself. You can delete or hide any listing whenever you want, and Close my account at the bottom of your profile hides your profile and listings straight away. We keep a closed account deactivated rather than erasing it, so if you come back, write to us and we'll reopen it as you left it — or ask us to erase it for good and we'll do that instead. There's no lock-in and nothing to cancel.
What happens when you launch to customers?
We'll email everyone who signed up before we start promoting the site, so nobody is surprised by the first message. Providers who posted before launch keep a Founding Provider badge on their profile afterwards.
